Course Description
The ELA course encompasses the study of literature, inferential and literal comprehension, vocabulary, word attack skills, reference, and study skills. The purpose of this course is to promote reading independently, critically, and analytically. Students interpret literature and content area materials through speaking listening and writing skills as well as oral, silent, and cooperative reading activities. Students use grammar correctly in daily speech and in written composition.
