Current Events is an elelctive course designed so that the student can keep up to date on world, national, state, and even local events.   Due to the increasing globalization of our economy, it is important that students increase their understanding of events in the world.  Also, it goes without saying that students must be aware of events taking place in their own country, state, and city in order to be an active participant in the democratic process. 

Economics:  Economics is typically a one semester course.  This microeconomics course provides students with the conceptual and analytical tools needed to understand the major economic problems of our free enterprise economy.  The course also emphasizes the basic economic principles of our American economy and its interaction with the global economy.
